Villi Iltchev

Villi brings two decades of operating and institutional investing experience. Before founding Category, Villi was a Managing Director at Two Sigma Ventures. At TSV, Villi managed the San Francisco office and invested in startups across SaaS, infrastructure, and developer tools. Villi started his career in venture as a General Partner at August Capital. Prior to joining August, he was a member of the leadership teams at Box and Lifelock, where he held various operating roles with broad responsibilities for strategy, product, alliances, investments, and acquisitions. 

Previously, Villi was a Vice President at Salesforce, where he led the investments and acquisitions teams, investing in over 30+ leading software companies including Hubspot, Box, Gusto, Anaplan, Mulesoft, Adaptive Insights, Zapier, and many others. Prior to Salesforce, Villi held roles at Hewlett-Packard and Merrill Lynch.

Villi earned an MBA from Darden (UVA), a Masters degree from Clemson University, and a BS from Erskine College. He lives in San Francisco with his wife and two children. When he is not working, Villi enjoys coaching his kids on the tennis courts, running, cycling, skiing, and any activity that gets him outdoors.
